Yggdrasil has named Alex Haywood as the head of its Polish division.
Haywood is a veteran gaming executive with extensive experience in the field. He previously served as the chief technology officer at Interactive Gaming Group and spent over three years at Evolution, including a period as head of IT business operations.
He joins Yggdrasil from Liquid Barcodes, where he held the position of managing director.
Yggdrasil CEO James Curwen stated, “We are delighted to welcome Alex to our team. His knowledge and experience will be essential as we continue to expand our operations in Poland.”
The appointment is part of Yggdrasil’s ongoing strategic reorganization process, which has involved some staff reductions. The company is merging its product and program offerings into a single unit.
Going forward, this will function under the label of “gaming.”
Yggdrasil stated the shift will aid in enhancing company clarity, simplifying procedures, and yielding numerous operational advantages.
As part of the reorganization, Chief Gaming Officer Mark McGinley will assume the new position of Chief Product Officer. McGinley will oversee Yggdrasil’s gaming product collection and Masters Studio endeavor.
“We are appreciative of the contributions and dedication of the senior leaders who are leaving Yggdrasil,” Curwen stated. “We remain dedicated to supporting our staff during this period of change as we navigate this transformative stage.”
Curwen is the CEO of Yggdrasil
Curwen is not unfamiliar with the position, having been named CEO in August, succeeding Bjorn Krantz. He formally took over on October 1.
Curwen spent two and a half years as Chief Online Officer at OPAP. Before that, Curwen was CEO of Golden Rock Studios and held the position of Chief Gaming Officer at Superbet.
Curwen also spent nearly six years at William Hill, holding senior positions including Chief Gaming Product Officer. He also worked at RandomGamesLimited UK and Ladbrokes.
