The Golden State is on the brink of making online sports wagering legal! A coalition of prominent enterprises, including Bally’s, BetMGM, DraftKings, Fanatics, FanDuel, Penn National Gaming, and Wynn Interactive, have banded together to advocate for a ballot measure that would enable Californians to place bets on sports via the internet.
The proposition, aptly titled “California Solutions to Homelessness and Mental Health Support Act,” pledges to generate a substantial sum of funds for the state. These funds would be allocated to address homelessness and enhance mental health services.
To secure a place on the ballot, the group must gather signatures from 8% of the electorate who participated in the most recent gubernatorial election. This represents a significant number of signatures, but if they can achieve this goal, the proposition will appear on the ballot in November 2022.
