Raketech has declared a media alliance agreement with Danske Spil, the Danish national lottery operator.
This affiliate partnership with Danske Spil is a new media collaboration pact that Raketech states will aid in further developing its sports offerings in Denmark. Raketech also mentioned that this partnership will back its long-term plan of diversifying revenue streams.
The agreement will endure for three years with the option to extend for an additional year.
Danske Spil is Raketech’s second collaborator in Denmark. Earlier this year, the group also teamed up with betting operator Vbet.
Raketech has also formed similar partnerships with other national lottery operators, such as Svenska Spel in Sweden.
“We are thrilled to announce a three-year media partnership agreement with Danske Spil,” said Johan Svensson, interim CEO of Raketech. “It broadens our media offerings while continuing to provide market-leading online resources for the Danish market.
“This partnership is a significant achievement for Raketech in Denmark. It acknowledges the capability of our products to support large successful operators who demand high execution standards.”
Svensson is presently serving as Raketech’s interim CEO.
Svensson assumed the role of temporary head of Raketech in January following the departure of Oscar Mühlbach.
Mühlbach’s exit was attributed to differences in opinion regarding the company’s future trajectory. He had held the position of Chief Executive Officer since December 2019, having previously served as Chief Operating Officer.
Svensson, a co-founder of Raketech, previously held the CEO position until stepping down in 2017. He has now returned on an interim basis while Raketech seeks a permanent successor.
Danish Lottery’s revenue growth fueled by lottery business expansion
The Danish lottery operator reported an increase in both revenue and net profit for the 2023 fiscal year compared to the previous year. This growth was attributed to the expansion of its lottery division.
Key highlights include a 1.2% revenue increase to DKK 5.04 billion (GBP 576.3 million/EUR 675.6 million/USD 720.2 million). Of this, Danish Lottery’s lottery division generated DKK 2.87 billion in revenue, representing a 2.5% increase, establishing a new annual record.
Danish Lottery’s pre-tax profit reached DKK 2.35 billion, reflecting a 6.0% rise. After paying DKK 526.5 million in taxes, the group’s net profit for 2023 amounted to DKK 1.82 billion, marking a 5.9% year-on-year increase.
