Gaming providers in Sweden, including ATG, Svenska Spel, and Kindred Group, have partnered to disclose information about patrons exhibiting indicators of gambling addiction.
This joint effort aims to raise consciousness and promote a data-driven dialogue on mitigating gambling-related harm. The agreement will involve the publication of four data points every half-year, concentrating on:
* The proportion of active users who were reached out to due to potentially harmful gambling habits.
* The efficacy of these interactions in encouraging users to curtail their gambling activities.
* The typical decrease in gambling among these users.
* The quantity of contacted users who opted for self-exclusion from gambling with the providers.
This coalition of operators emphasizes the significance of this data by referencing a Swedish Public Health Agency study that revealed 56% of the Swedish populace participated in some form of wagering for monetary gain in the preceding year.
“By disseminating these crucial figures semi-annually, it will become simpler for our stakeholders to monitor and comprehend our endeavors to combat detrimental gambling through the utilization of regulations, technology, research, and interpersonal contact,” stated Henrik Tjärnström, Chief Executive Officer of Kindred Group.
We strongly hold the conviction that frank and open dialogues, rooted in verifiable information, are essential for fostering confidence within the gaming sector. This openness, we hope, will inspire other companies to adopt similar practices.
Our overarching objective has consistently been to arrive at a stage where revenue derived from problematic gambling ceases to exist. This latest endeavor alongside ATG and Svenska Spel marks a substantial stride toward that ambition, introducing an even higher degree of openness within the Swedish gaming landscape.
